Big Y Opens First C-Store

LEE, Mass. — Big Y has opened its first fuel center/c-store location here in partnership with local operator F.L. Roberts & Co.

The 2,000-square-foot Big Y Express Fuel and Convenience store, at 320 Housatonic St., just a few hubndred feet from a traditional Big Y supermarket, is open 24 hours with eight gas pumps. It features a combination of traditional F.L. Roberts offerings along with an assortment of Big Y private-label grocery, snacks and prepared foods such as sandwiches and hot dogs.

F.L. Roberts Rewards-PLUS loyalty cards and Big Y Silver Savings Club cards can be used for discounts at the pump and on items inside the store, and Big Y’s Express Rewards silver and gold coins can be redeemed for cents off per gallon at the pump.

F.L. Roberts supplies the gas and is responsible for the 10 Big Y Express employees.

The companies had announced plans for the store in September.
