Consolidation: Favorable forecast for merger activity

The climate for mergers and acquisitions is positive, industry observers told SN.

 “The industry is a lot more in favor with investors than it has been for a while because Walmart has stopped taking share left, right and center now that it has reached saturation with its supercenters, so the climate is really good.” Andrew Wolf, managing director at BB&T Capital Markets, Boston, said.
