Giant Food is cutting the cost of products in its private label line, including the Giant brand, Nature’s Promise, Taste of Inspirations, Smart Living, Always My Baby, Companion, and CareOne.

The Landover, Md.-based grocer also is expanding its Flexible Rewards loyalty program to allow shoppers to earn twice as many points for every dollar spent on over 12,000 private brand items.

Points can be redeemed for savings on groceries and gas as well as product offerings during future trips to the store.

Shoppers just need to look for “Compare and Save” tags on items in the aisles to receive the savings.

“With our new program, we aim to introduce more shoppers to our lower-cost store-brand items,” said Ira Kress, president of Giant Food.
