Giant-Landover will host a celebration in honor of the opening of its 50th Peapod pick-up location at the York Road Plaza Giant Food in Baltimore Tuesday, the company said.
Giant, a division of Ahold based in Landover, Md., operates 49 other pick-up points in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia and Delaware. The sites allow for shoppers to quickly pick up orders made online through Ahold’s Peapod Internet and mobile sites. The service allows for customers to order groceries for next-day pickup with no fee.
Baltimore Ravens player Matt Stover, Raven cheerleaders and Giant officials are scheduled to appear at the celebration Tuesday. Giant said it would also make a donation to the Maryland Food Bank.
