NEW YORK — Representatives of Sprouts Farmers Market on Monday rang the opening bell of the NASDAQ stock exchange here, kicking off NASDAQ’s “fit week” highlighting companies that support healthier lifestyles.
Sprouts CFO Amin Maredia rang the opening bell and was accompanied by other officials including Janet Little, the chain’s director of nutrition.
In an interview with SN following the event, Little said Sprouts has embraced a role as an destination for shoppers looking for healthy natural foods, including the company’s ongoing “Defy it with Your Diet” campaign, which encourages shoppers to exercise, eat natural foods and consume what the company calls “four essential supplements” — probiotics, multivitamins, omega-rich oils and greens.
