SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Michael A. Tami has been named vice president of information resources and technology of Big Y Foods here, the retailer announced yesterday. Tami, previously Big Y’s director of information systems, succeeds John N. Sarno, who recently retired. Tami’s responsibilities will include computer systems and applications development, store systems implementation and support as well as computer operations, including networking. He will also oversee the development of a knowledge infrastructure, including the use of dashboards and other tools that will facilitate communications throughout the company, said Big Y in a statement.
