Uber Eats picks Forage to process SNAP

The delivery service will begin its program in late 2024

Uber Eats has chosen San Francisco-based tech company Forage to process payments made via SNAP EBT.

Forage announced on Friday that Uber will launch its SNAP program in late 2024.

“We know that accepting SNAP benefits online is incredibly important for millions of Americans and are extremely proud that through our partnership, Uber will be able to unlock EBT acceptance for all retailers on their platform and help more Americans put food on their table,” said Forage co-founder and CEO, Ofek Lavian.

Forage noted that more than 17 million Americans have limited access to grocery stores and live in food deserts. However, more than nine out of every 10 U.S. citizens do have access to food delivery through services like Uber Eats and others.

“In 2021 alone, Uber Eats enabled the delivery of 226 million orders to these communities across the country,” Forage noted.
