U.S. Latinos are adopting pets at a burgeoning rate

The number of Hispanics with pets in their homes has nearly doubled from 11.4 million in 2007 to 20.4 million in 2016, according to Packaged Facts.

“What’s interesting is that the percentage of Hispanics owning pets has gone up significantly in the last 10 years from about 43% to 59%, whereas the percentage of non-Hispanics owning pets has gone from 58% to 59%,” Robert Brown, an analyst with the Rockville, Md.-based researcher, told SN.
