RESTON, Va. -- The Association of Sales & Marketing Companies here said last week it has cancelled its annual Business Forum, saying the gathering, formerly the association's best-attended event, no longer best serves its members in a rapidly changing environment.

Mark Baum, who will become ASMC president Jan. 1, said, "Here, at the threshold of a new century, the time is right for ASMC to eliminate the business forum and devote its energies to determining what our members will need and the best ways for ASMC to go about meeting -- and exceeding - those needs and expectations in the future."
