ST. LOUIS -- Bunzl Distribution USA here said its parent company, Bunzl plc, based in the United Kingdom, has completed acquisition of the Grocery Supply Systems division of Unisource Worldwide, Berwyn, Pa.
to supermarkets and other grocery outlets throughout the United States and has sales of approximately $270 million. The business, Bunzl USA officials said, complements and will expand Bunzl's network in this country.
Bunzl USA is a major distributor of packaging and other plastic and paper supplies to supermarkets and other food outlets. Revenues posted by parent company Bunzl plc totaled $1.8 billion in 1996 and Bunzl USA represents more than 40% of total corporate revenues, officials said in a statement.
