Sales from the Tulip product line in 1996 were reported at approximately $1.2 million.

Dry Dairy also purchased the distribution rights and assumed control of the direct- store distribution system in place for Tulip bakery products, and created another subsidiary, NGU Distribution, to manage the delivery of Tulip Bakery products.

Currently, the Tulip products are distributed to about 300 supermarkets in Florida. The company plans to expand its reach into Georgia this year.

The agreements are the first step in Dry Dairy's planned expansion into the baking and distribution of specialty-bread products to supermarkets, according to the company.

Dry Dairy also operates a wholly owned subsidiary called Lombardo's Pastaria, a manufacturer of quality gourmet pasta products.

The company manufactures and distributes a full line of pita bread, sweet-bread loaves, bagels and other bakery products under the brand name Tulip.
