MINNEAPOLIS -- Supervalu here has named Kim Erickson to the new position of senior vice president of finance. She had been vice president and treasurer since joining the distributor in 1995 and remains responsible for the treasury function. She reports to Jeff Girard, executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Piggly Wiggly Adds Senior VP
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Piggly Wiggly Corp. here said Bob Johnson, former president of IGA Australia, has joined the company as senior vice president of sales and marketing.
In his new position, Johnson is responsible for all marketing support activities for Piggly Wiggly franchise stores. He reports to Larry Wright, president of Piggly Wiggly.
K.V. Mart Appoints Six VPs
CARSON, Calif. -- K.V. Mart Co. here, operator of Top Valu Markets and Valu Plus Food Warehouses, has named several departmental directors to vice presidencies.
The changes include John Cordero, named vice president of grocery buying and advertising; Bill Harwell, vice president of meat operations; Don Stalcup, vice president of produce operations; Terry Fowler, vice president of liquor/deli operations; Rod Simpson, vice president for the Valu Plus division; and Ken McConathy, vice president of the Top Valu division. All six continue to report to Phil Gentile, executive vice president and chief operating officer of the 18-store chain.
In other changes, Greg Sproul, controller, added the title of director of accounting; Bruce Brandlin, general counsel, added the title of director of legal affairs; Bijan Kharrazi, formerly cash manager, was named director of cash and real estate; and Ben Sharifi, formerly manager of engineering and construction, was named director of engineering and construction.
Sproul, Brandlin and Kharrazi report to Ty Hitt, senior vice president and chief financial officer; Sharifi reports to Thad Smith, vice president for procurement and development.
