Restructuring at Sunkist Growers

SHERMAN OAKS, Calif. -- In a move designed to enhance Sunkist Growers' focus on sales and marketing, the citrus cooperative has advanced with an organizational restructuring, creating four new vice-presidential positions.

John B. McGuigan has been named vice president of domestic sales. Joining Sunkist's Pittsburgh district sales office in 1983, McGuigan was most recently director of Sunkist's Eastern sales division.

U.J. (Gene) Sass will now serve as vice president of marketing. With Sunkist for 34 years, Sass began his career with them as a merchandiser in the domestic market. Most recently, he was director of Sunkist's international marketing services and was responsible for the cooperative's domestic marketing services as well.

Richard J. Mead will fill the new vice president of international sales position. Raised in the citrus business, Mead joined Sunkist in 1966 as an order coordinator in the export-sales department. For the past five years, he has served as vice president of fresh-fruit marketing.

The final new position, vice president of strategic planning, has yet to be filled.

All four positions will report to Vincent J. Lupinacci, president and chief executive officer of Sunkist Growers.
