Frahm to Oversee Retail Operations at Stater

Frahm was formerly group senior vice president, administration. He picked up responsibilities for retail operations when Jim Lee was promoted to president and chief operating officer last month. Frahm, a 33-year veteran of the company, became vice president, labor relations, in 1996; senior vice president, administration, in 2001; and group senior vice president, administration, last March.
AG of Florida Elevates Chris Miller to COO
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. - Associated Grocers here said Chris Miller has been named chief operating officer as part of the company's management succession plan for the cooperative wholesaler. The post is newly created. Miller, a 10-year veteran of AG, most recently was vice president of operations. Prior to joining AG, he was a warehouse supervisor at Cheshire, Conn.-based Bozzuto's. Miller is the son of Calvin Miller, AG's president and chief executive officer.
Balducci's Taps H-E-B Veteran Denny as Sr. VP
BETHESDA, Md. - Sutton Place Group here, parent of Balducci's, last week named Ron Denny senior vice president of sales and merchandising, sources said. Denny, a longtime veteran of H.E. Butt Co. in San Antonio, most recently had been with A&P, Montvale, N.J., where he had worked with its Farmer Jack and Food Basics banners. Also, the sources said Doug Sorenson was promoted to senior vice president of operations. The Shoppers Food & Pharmacy veteran recently had been hired as vice president of operations and loss prevention.
Farrell Leaves AFS to Be CEO OF Flower Retailer
SALT LAKE CITY - Alan Farrell has left Associated Food Stores as vice president of operations for corporate stores to accept a position as chief executive officer of flower retailer Speaking Roses, based here. A spokesman for AFS, a cooperative wholesaler also based here, said Farrell's position may be eliminated as the company restructures. Farrell previously held positions at Wal-Mart Stores, Bentonville, Ark., and Kmart Corp., Troy, Mich.
