ROCKVILLE, Md. -- Fresh Fields touted its pies and other bakery items for Thanksgiving dinner in the store, via a tabloid-sized Thanksgiving dinner menu and order form combined.

The promotional materials were spotted in a store in Milburn, N.J., which is one of 12 Fresh Fields units in the Northeast.
The Thanksgiving dinner menus and bakery menus were stacked on a table in the meat department. The table was not manned at mid-evening, but chairs behind the table suggested associates are available earlier in the day to talk to customers about their Thanksgiving dinner needs.
The varieties of pies listed on the Thanksgiving dinner form and also on the separate menu were 10-inch apple, apple-cranberry and blueberry, for $9.99; 9-inch pumpkin, $9.99; 9-inch maple pecan, $13.99; and 10-inch chocolate walnut tart, $13.99.
Breads and rolls, "handcrafted by our bakers," included white or wheat dinner rolls, $1.99 a dozen; honey grain rolls, $1.99/half dozen; cranberry or pecan raisin dinner rolls, $2.79/half dozen; French rolls, $1.99/half dozen; fresh rosemary rolls, $2.79/half dozen; city baguette (French), $1.59 each; country baguette (sourdough), $1.99 each; and cornbread, $1.99/pound. A store-level source said the pies and breads were baked in-store.
