JOHNSTON OPENS WESTERN FOOD INDUSTRY EXPO

Additional speakers at the opening session this year will include Marc F. Rogers, first vice president of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, New York, giving a Wall Street perspective on food retailing, and Sandra Drought, of Practical Solutions for Managing Change, talking about strategies for navigating constant change.

The primary speaker at the Oct. 2 general session will be Harold Lloyd, a consultant, talking about promoting a positive price perception.

The expo will hold an afternoon general session that day featuring Tom Feltenstein, of the Neighborhood Marketing Institute, talking about marketing strategies that build sales.

Closing out the convention at the Oct. 3 general session will be Doug Hall, of Eureka! Ranch, talking about increasing the odds for retail success.

The expo is sponsored by several Western food groups, including CGA, Arizona Food Marketing Alliance, California Independent Grocers Association, Idaho Retailers Association, Montana Food Distributors Association, National Korean-American Grocers Foundation, Retailer Association of Nevada, Rocky Mountain Food Industry Association and Utah Food Industry Association.
