ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. -- CPC Specialty Products has selected microwavable paperboard cups sealed with tabbed paper-film laminate lids to launch single servings of its Knorr brand of dry soup mixes in five flavors. Labels, printed on vertically scored paperboard, impart rigidity as the outer ply of the 10-ounce cups and provide insulation so containers do not become too hot to handle after microwaving or adding boiling water. Graphics feature the Knorr green and its red logo type as well as a product vignette. The label also carries nutritional information in the new format and a bar code printed black on white in a ladder orientation for optimum scan-ability on the curved cup. The soups come in five flavors: lentil, black bean, chicken vegetable, potato leek and navy bean.
