Pillsbury Recalls Pizza Rolls

Co. voluntarily recalled 78-count large polybagged packages of its Jeno's and Totino's Pepperoni & Cheese flavor Pizza Rolls because they may have contained some products filled with shrimp egg roll filling rather than pizza filling.

The company said on Feb. 23 that a few thousand cases of the products were believed to have been distributed to supermarkets and club stores in scattered markets around the country. The shrimp filling could cause problems to people allergic to shellfish, said the company. The mix-up appears to have occurred at a co-packing plant that produced both egg rolls and Pizza Rolls.

The Jeno's and Totino's Pizza Rolls in question bear production codes beginning with the letters H, I, J or K. Pillsbury said consumers who have purchased Pizza Rolls with those codes should call 1-800-775-0605. Consumers with a known allergy to shrimp should not eat the products, but they present no health risk to other consumers.

Pillsbury said it will destroy the products that are returned.
