GROCERY MANUFACTURERS OF AMERICA'S first annual "GMA State Leadership Award" was presented to Christopher P. Flynn, president of the Massachusetts Food Association, Boston. The award was presented by the Washington-based group in cooperation with the Food Industry Association Executives.

FOUR INDIVIDUALS were honored by the Mexican American Grocers Association and Foundation, Los Angeles, for their significant contributions to the food industry and the Hispanic community. Honorees included Harold McIntire, president of the Food 4 Less warehouse store division of Ralphs Grocery Co., Compton, Calif.; Arturo S. Rodriguez, president of the United Farm Workers of America; Richard Rodriguez, senior vice president of Mercado Latino, a Los Angeles-based distributor of products from Mexico; and Manuel F. Soto 3rd, chairman of the MAGA Foundation.
