BURBANK, Calif. — Sugarcoated superheroes, the Powerpuff Girls are coming to the small screen with the release of their show's first season on a two-disc special edition DVD. “The Powerpuff Girls: Season One,” from Warner Home Video here and Cartoon Network, Atlanta, will include 13 episodes, plus special features like an early student film about the trio by series creator Craig McCracken. The launch will be supported by “on-air and online marketing on the Cartoon Network and CartoonNetwork.com,” said Brooks Jewell, spokeswoman for Cartoon Network. The DVD will be available on June 19 and will retail for $26.99.

KEEPING COLOR

CHICAGO — Sunsilk from Unilever is introducing the new Blonde Bombshell and Beyond Brunette shampoos and conditioners, as well as a color-enhancing dye called Color Boost for customers trying to preserve their hair color. “Sunsilk Blonde Bombshell and Beyond Brunette Color Boosts contain dyes that are normally associated with salon brands,” said Judy Rahn, research and development manager, Unilever Hair Care. Sunsilk is offering several in-store promotions to support the launch, including at-shelf displays, on-product gift cards and register receipt coupons. The launch will also be supported by advertising and public relations efforts.
