MINNEAPOLIS -- Supervalu here has established a liason office in Tokyo to provide service to its largest export market.
s customer base in Japan, as well as strategic planning.
The new office is part of the Supervalu International division, Tacoma, Wash., which was formed in 1985 to develop export programs for the company worldwide.
"Supervalu is the first major U.S. food distribution company with an on-site presence in Japan," said Charles Witzleben, president of Supervalu International. "We will work closely with the U.S. Embassy Agricultural Trade Office to target further growth and to develop new distribution channels for American goods in Japan," he added.
