Starting in February, West Point Market will hold monthly food and wine pairing events.
On the first Friday of each month, the single-unit Akron, Ohio, store will pair five wines with food from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets cost $10.
“We'll be relaxing after a hard week at work and enjoying 5 wines and small bites,” West Point wrote in a Facebook post.
The new Friday night wine/food pairings come at a time when West Point Market heavily markets its wine department. Nearly every day, 25 cent wine samplings are offered.
It also hosts themed events. For instance, on Jan. 16 and 23, it will host “Best Buy Red” events featuring 50 wines from around the world that sell for $15 or less. Appetizers are included.
“Our staff meticulously picks this collection of affordable finds with one rule in mind: each selection must be highly drinkable and of exceptional quality for the price,” West Point writes in promotional materials.
Tickets cost $35 each.
