SN Poll Results: Sales Boost Seen From Longer Holiday Season

The extra selling time between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year could add a least a few percentage points onto sales, according to two-thirds of respondents to a survey on SN’s website. Only 34% of respondents said the longer selling season — the maximum 32 days, including an extra weekend — would not have an impact on their sales volume, relative to a year ago. Fifty-seven percent said the extra time “might add a couple of percentage points” to sales, and another 9% said they thought the extra time would be worth more than a few points of sales gains.
