SAN ANTONIO — H.E. Butt Grocery Co. last week said it has promoted Bob Loeffler to president, and named Craig Boyan to succeed him as chief operating officer. Loeffler (pictured), who joined H-E-B in 1979, had been COO since 2003.
As president, he succeeds Fully Clingman, who retired in 2002. Boyan joined H-E-B in 2005 as chief strategic officer after previously working as a consultant to the company from the New York office of Monitor Group. In addition, H-E-B has named Martin Otto chief financial officer. Otto, who joined H-E-B in 1991, most recently was interim chief financial officer and executive vice president of grocery merchandising and procurement.
“These three individuals have all made outstanding contributions to H-E-B's growth,” said Charles Butt, chairman and chief executive officer. “Their strategic thinking skills, experience and strong commitment to community will ensure that we continue to exceed the expectations of our customers.”
KEY FOOD ELEVATES JANEWAY TO CEO
NEW YORK — Key Food Stores Co-Operative here last week said it has named Dean Janeway chief executive officer. He succeeds Richard Pallitto, who left to pursue other interests. Janeway joined Key Food in 2005 as senior director of advertising and retail services, and before that had been vice president of sales for the grocery channel at the Wrigley Co. He also spent 10 years in marketing, sales and customer relations at Campbell Soup Co., Camden, N.J.
PAUL NAMED PRESIDENT AT NEW
CHICAGO — Alison Kenney Paul, a principal in the retail and consumer products practices at Deloitte here, has been elected president of the Network of Executive Women. She succeeds Helayne Angelus, principal of Inspirational Performance. “I am excited by the prospect of heading NEW at such a crucial time in our history,” Paul said. “I want to salute Helayne's extraordinary efforts as president during the past two years.
