Lon Povich, EVP and general counsel for BJ’s Wholesale Club, will join the staff of Massachusetts governor-elect Charlie Baker as chief legal counsel.
"Lon's experience in large, private sector organizations, combined with his public sector leadership in the U.S. attorney's office and with Governor Weld make him a valuable addition to our administration," Baker said in a statement. Baker was elected in November to succeed Deval Patrick and will take office in January.
Povich has spent nearly eig years at BJ’s, based in Westborough, Mass., and previously served as deputy chief legal counsel under Massachusetts Gov. William Weld.
