SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Price Chopper here said Jerel T. Golub was named president and chief operating officer of the employee-owned chain, succeeding Neil Golub as president. Neil Golub, who had been president since 1982, remains chairman and chief executive officer and will have direct oversight for finance, legal and internal audit. Price Chopper described the move as “further implementation of its succession plan.” Jerel “Jerry” Golub, a 27-year veteran of the company, had been executive vice president and COO since February 2008. In his new position, he will have direct oversight over administration, supply chain, and real estate and construction. The company also announced a series of other changes: Joe Kelley was promoted to executive vice president; David Golub was promoted to VP of administration; Russell Zwanka was promoted to VP, sales, merchandising and marketing; Mike Davidson has been promoted to VP, operations; Mark Chandler was promoted to VP, supply chain; Bob Doyle has been promoted to VP, distribution; Angelo Cannistraci was promoted to VP of merchandising; Jack Serota was promoted to VP of grocery merchandising; Tom Bird was promoted to VP of supply chain; Bill Bishop was promoted to director of warehousing operations; and Ed McManus was promoted to regional VP.
NEW PRESIDENT AT JOHNSON O'HARE
BILLERICA, Mass. — Sales and merchandising agency Johnson O'Hare, based here, last week said John Saidnawey has been named president and chief operating officer. Chip O'Hare remains chairman and chief executive officer. Saidnawey joined the company in 1982 as a retail rep and moved to the nonfood division in 1986. He was promoted to COO in 2005 and now oversees all divisions, including JO'H Mid-Atlantic, the newest division.
