MINNEAPOLIS — Supervalu here said yesterday it has promoted Brian Huff to senior vice president of specialty retail, a newly created post overseeing the company’s bigg’s, Cub Foods, Farm Fresh, Hornbacher’s, Shop ’n Save and Shoppers Food & Pharmacy divisions.
Huff, who most recently was president of the Cub Foods banner, will report to Pete Van Helden, who recently was named executive vice president of retail operations as part of a management realignment. Huff, 50, joined Supervalu in 2003 as vice president of merchandising at Cub Foods and was named president in 2005. Before joining Supervalu, he was vice president of merchandising at Sam’s Club has also held positions at Price Chopper, Bruno’s and Metro Food Markets.
Supervalu said a successor to Huff as president of Cub Foods will be named at a later date.
