HONG KONG — Walmart Asia here said Monday that Ed Chan, president and chief executive of Walmart China, is leaving the company for personal reasons, effective immediately.

In addition, Clara Wong, senior vice president, people, for Walmart China, has also resigned. Scott Price, the president and CEO of Walmart Asia, has been named interim CEO of Walmart China.

The moves follow reports that the Chinese government leveled a fine against the company for allegedly mislabeling regular pork as being organic in some of its stores, but Walmart said the resignations were unrelated.
