Weis Markets, Sunbury, Pa., on Tuesday said Adam Edwards has joined the company as director, information security.
In this position, Edwards will oversee the development, implementation and compliance of information security practices throughout the company.
His responsibilities include management of the risks related to information security, policy development and enforcement, identity management, crisis management, and privacy and compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards.
Edwards reports to Shirl Stroeing, VP and CIO.
Edwards has extensive information technology experience including more than a decade in information security management. Prior to joining Weis, he was the University of Scranton’s director of information security. Earlier in his career, he worked in information security positions at Rent-A-Center and Lowe’s Inc.
