Amazon Fresh offers Thanksgiving for 5 for $50
Meanwhile, Amazon is promoting this month's big Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.
Amazon is gearing up for the holiday shopping season with Thanksgiving meal deals through Amazon Fresh and Black Friday and Cyber Monday through its online portal, the Seattle-based retail giant announced.
Amazon Fresh said Friday it is offering Thanksgiving dinner for a family of five for under $50. That offer includes an 8- to 10-pound Butterball whole turkey, turkey gravy, russet potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, cornbread stuffing, sweet rolls, Amazon Fresh-brand pie and Breyers ice cream.
Amazon also announced Monday that it is expanding its Black Friday sale this year to run from Nov. 17-27. The last few days of the Black Friday sale runs concurrently with Amazon’s Cyber Monday sale, which runs Nov. 25-27.
The Thanksgiving dinner deal has a catch, though. Shoppers must spend over $50 to receive a frozen Butterball turkey for 49 cents per pound. That deal doubles to 99 cents per pound for those purchasing the turkey online.
Members of Amazon’s premium service, Amazon Prime, will enjoy 10% off for items such as eggs, butter, sugar, cooking oil, meats and produce, the company said in a statement.
All of Amazon’s physical stores will be open on Thanksgiving from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is offering 2-hour delivery for orders where available.
Meanwhile, Amazon is promoting this month's big Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. Both sales include heavy discounts, and Amazon has created portals on its website that give details about both sales.
The Black Friday sale includes deals on tech, home goods, clothing, toys and other categories, the company said. The Cyber Monday sale includes many of the same categories—Amazon will be announcing sales on its web pages dedicated to the events.
Personalized deal notifications are available through the Alexa app up to 24 hours prior to the sale, the company noted, enabling customers with items saved in their Wish List, Cart and Saved for Later lists to “keep an eye on personalized deals throughout the season by saying, ‘Alexa, what are my deals?’”
“They can also ask Alexa to remind them of deals once they are live, or ask Alexa to make a purchase when a deal is available by saying, ‘Alexa, buy it for me,’” the company said.
It’s been a year of big sales for Amazon, which enjoyed its biggest Amazon Prime and Amazon Big Deal Days events ever in July and October, respectively.
The company reported sales of $87.9 billion in North America during its third quarter, up 11% from the same period in 2022. Net sales at its physical locations also jumped year over year for the quarter, increasing 6% to $4.96 billion.
