MAULDIN, S.C. — Bi-Lo here last week launched a new gas promotion tying in grocery purchases, according to media reports. Customers can earn gas tokens for either a $50 or more purchase in the store, or by buying specific products. Eight tokens can be redeemed at the customer service counter for either a Shell or BP gift card worth $25. "We thought the current rising prices in both fuel and food was a great opportunity to expand the program, with enhancements," said John Gianakas, the chain's vice president of marketing.
