Dierbergs, Stater Launch Generic Drug Programs
Dierbergs Markets today is launching a discount generic prescription drug program, and Stater Bros. Markets, San Bernardino, Calif., said it will begin offering discounted generics tomorrow.

CHESTERFIELD, Mo. — Dierbergs Markets here today is launching a discount generic prescription drug program, and Stater Bros. Markets, San Bernardino, Calif., said it will begin offering discounted generics tomorrow. Encompassing 350 medications, the Dierbergs program offers pricing of $4 per prescription for a 30-day supply and $10 per prescription for a 90-day supply. Dierbergs has 23 locations with 21 pharmacies in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Competitor Schnuck Markets, St. Louis, launched a similar program late last month. Meanwhile, Stater Bros.’ discounted generics will cost $4 for 30 days and $10 for 90 days; more than 300 drugs are covered in its program. Stater Bros. has 23 Super Rx Pharmacy locations in its 165 stores.
