Grocery Outlet store will open next week near New Cumberland.

A ribbon cutting will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 22 at the store at 110 Old York Road in Fairview Township. A grand opening will follow on Oct. 24.

The store is independently owned by Matthew Hale.

Grocery Outlet operates more than 229 stores in California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Washington. This year the chain is opening 20 stores.

A Grocery Outlet will open at 110 Old York Road in Fairview Township.

A Grocery Outlet opened in August in North Londonderry Township near Palmyra. Other Grocery Outlets operate at 85 Gateway Drive in Mechanicsburg, and 600 N. Mountain Road, Lower Paxton Township.

For the grand opening, there will be free refreshments, reusable bag giveaways and $5 gift certificates to the first 100 shoppers. The store will offer drawings for prizes including Apple iPad Air 2 and Nikon Coolpix L330 digital camera.

In addition, Grocery Outlet will be donating $1,000 worth of groceries to The Bridge Pantry in New Cumberland which runs out of the West Shore Senior Center at 122 Geary Ave.

The store will be open 8 a.m.- 9 p.m., daily.
