NEW YORK — The Association of Retail Technology Standards (ARTS), a division of the National Retail Federation, plans to release a “Mobile Blueprint” document describing how retailers can connect to consumers through their mobile phones on July 1.

The free document, which will be available on www.nrf.com, will provide implementation strategies and an ROI calculator, as well as information on technology, mobile applications, payment, security, privacy and standards, said Richard Mader, executive director and chairman of ARTS, during a presentation today at the Aberdeen Group Retail Summit here.

This is the first version of the document, which was developed by retailers, associations, vendors and others, said Mader; version 2.0 will be released in January.
