Henry's Farmers Market said it will offer free groceries to the first 200 shoppers when it opens a store here next week, and will also give away free deli sandwiches to shoppers named Henry or Henrietta (or their Spanish versions, Enrique and Enriqua).

CARLSBAD, Calif. — Henry's Farmers Market said it will offer free groceries to the first 200 shoppers when it opens a store here next week, and will also give away free deli sandwiches to shoppers named Henry or Henrietta (or their Spanish versions, Enrique and Enriqua).

The free groceries will include about $40 worth of mixed Center Store items, both branded and private label, a spokeswoman for the chain told SN. The promotion was first launched at the chain's June opening in Monrovia, Calif., in June.

The 30-store natural and organic retailer is owned by Los Angles-based Smart & Final. It had previously been owned by Wild Oats Markets and then by Whole Foods Market.
