Kroger will bring its Marketplace supercenter format to Fort Wayne, Ind., as part of a $75 million market investment, published reports said this week.

CINCINNATI — Kroger will bring its Marketplace supercenter format to Fort Wayne, Ind., as part of a $75 million market investment, published reports said this week.

The retailer announced plans in January to invest in Fort Wayne, where it acquired the Scott’s chain from Supervalu in 2007.

Plans filed with the Fort Wayne Plan Commission this week, according to the Journal Gazette newspaper, include building three new stores, closing three existing stores, the addition of 10 fuel centers and significant expansions of two stores that would be rebranded under the Kroger Marketplace banner, Kroger’s expanded general merchandise and grocery superstore concept.
