EUGENE, Ore. — Market of Choice, a seven store operator based here, announced that its website, www.marketofchoice.com, has been recognized by the American Business Awards and APEX.
In addition, the retailer's website was one of several technology-based innovations that earned it SN's Technology Excellence Award in the independent category in May.
The American Business Awards presented Market of Choice with its "Stevie" award for Best Food and Beverage Web site; finalists in the category included Hormel Foods, ZICO Pure Coconut Water and SeafoodSource. Market of Choice's site was one of 100 that received the APEX grand award, out of 3,785 entries, based largely on content and site navigation.
Launched in November 2008, the Web site is a partnership between Market of Choice's advertising department and CAWOOD, a public relations and marketing agency based here. The site includes food for thought, customized and Web-only specials, unique recipes, food-and-beverage-focused blogs and interactive forums.
"Customer response tells us our new website gives them what they want, which is an easy-to-use, enticing reference and source of ideas for family meals and entertaining," said Lyn Ryse, Market of Choice's advertising manager.
