QUINCY, Mass. — Stop & Shop here is donating 1,000 turkeys to the Food Bank of New Jersey. The retailer invited fourth-grade students from the Solomon Schechter Day School of Essex and Union in West Orange, N.J., to visit the Community Food Bank of New Jersey to learn how members of the New Jersey corporate community are working with food banks and food pantries throughout the state to help them provide for New Jersey’s needy.
Stop & Shop representatives will discuss with the children their company’s efforts to help charitable organizations meet the needs of the hungry. The retailer’s Turkey Express program will deliver almost 19,000 turkeys to hunger relief organizations throughout New Jersey, New York, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Connecticut during this holiday season.
