MINNEAPOLIS — Target is re-introducing five limited-edition General Mills cereal boxes featuring retro designs from the '50s, '60s, and '80s.

The boxes were chosen by shoppers who selected their childhood favorites as part of a General Mills survey. Cheerios from 1956; Trix from 1968; Honey Nut Cheerios and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, from 1984; and Lucky Charms from 1989 were chosen.

This promotion marks the fourth year retro packages have been re-introduced. Target is supporting the effort with ad circulars, prominent promotional space at check lanes in all stores, blog outreach featuring retro trivia contests, and radio promotions across the country.

Retro boxes are available through mid-March or while supplies last.
