Whole health consumers may be willing to pay a premium, but that doesn't mean they won't try to save money — especially when times get tough. According to a survey conducted by marketing firm Mambo Sprouts, 70% of natural and organic consumers redeem coupons regularly, and 46% said they've started using more coupons as the economy has taken a dive. This amounts to an average savings of $8 per shopping trip, or about 10% of their shopping bill. Just over half (56%) of these shoppers said they would use even more coupons if more were made available for natural and organic brands.
