Food Lion personalizes web visits with enhanced site

Food Lion has improved its website based on customer feedback to offer a personalized shopping experience for My MVP loyalty cardholders, according to the retailer.

Upon log in to the enhanced foodlion.com, visitors can access a personalized dashboard that includes their savings for the year and relevant information and offers. The site features a new Recipe Portal with customer-generated recipes that shoppers can rate, and a more robust MVP Coupon Hub with 150 relevant coupons that can be loaded onto a visitor’s MVP card.

"At Food Lion, we work to provide customers with an easy, fresh and affordable shopping experience they can count on every day in our stores," said Keith Nicks, director of loyalty and digital marketing for Food Lion, in a statement. "We know that technology plays a powerful role in making grocery shopping easy for our customers. That's why we've launched a new foodlion.com – to help simplify the shopping experience for our customers online, while boosting their access to savings and providing new meal ideas."

Shoppers can also easily create shopping lists, according to a tutorial video on the site.

“And how about a shopping list feature designed to fit the way you shop? Whether you’re inspired by a recipe, great savings or a particular family favorite you can add it to your online shopping list from the recipe portal, coupon hub, weekly specials flyer or even our dynamic search feature,” according to the video.

Additional enhancements will roll out in the coming months, according to Food Lion.
