PHOENIX — Lisa Henriksen, vice president of marketing and own brands, Giant Eagle, received Supermarket News' sixth annual Marketer of the Year Award here late last month.

The presentation was made by SN Publisher Jerry Rymont at the Friends of the Industry Dinner during the Food Marketing Institute's Midwinter Executive Conference.

In presenting the award, Rymont cited Henriksen's success with a marketing campaign and broader marketing platform for the company. An in-depth SN profile published on Jan. 24 outlines Henriksen's achievements in greater detail.

Among those on hand to greet Henriksen were Robert Hill and Ramin Eivaz of Acosta, the sponsor of the Marketer Award.

The Friends Dinner is a venue for good works. Over the past 12 years approximately $600,000 has been contributed to educational causes promoted by the industry. These include, but are not limited to, the FMI Foundation, Western Association of Food Chains scholarships and Network of Executive Women internships. This year marks the 10th anniversary of NEW.

Dinner attendees included representatives from FMI member retail and wholesale companies, in addition to representatives from trade associations and other organizations.

Bill Kies, co-founder and manager of the Friends Dinner, and principal at Kies Consulting, served as master of ceremonies.
