Metro claims to be the first Canadian grocer to create an app for the Apple Watch.
In store, app users can view grocery lists and check off items. Metro will also send weekly alerts about digital coupons and circulars that users can then view on their mobile phones.
“We want to make things easier for our customers and push their personalized shopping experience even further,” Marc Giroux, VP, chief marketing and communications officer for Montreal-based Metro, said in a press release. “This new technological innovation stems from our willingness to optimize digital possibilities for the benefit of our customers in order to assist them in their purchasing process.”
In March, Metro announced a new feature called “Just for Me” that allows shoppers to receive personalized digital sales flyers.
