Jackfruit “crab” cakes, cauliflower nachos and “boozy” gelato are on the menu at Whole Foods’ new "the 2ND" bar and restaurant, located within its El Segundo, Calif., store.
The eatery, which is open Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., features an expanded vegan and vegetarian menu and fall-inspired offerings including autumn squash and grilled apple salad, a porcini cutlet with farro risotto and vegan chocolate cake.
The toast menu includes “forest schroom” with almond ricotta, sautéed baby kale, roasted garlic and Fresno chile.
Featured on tap are 36 beers including local brews from El Segundo Brewery, The Strand Brewhouse, King Harbor, Smog City and Boomtown, and Health-ade Kombucha. Twelve wines are featured by the glass.
The 2ND will also serve brunch on the weekends and host “Game Night” specials Thursday through Monday nights for college and professional games.
