Foragers opened its second store in Manhattan in the Chelsea neighborhood six months ago. Its first store is located in Brooklyn.
Some of the produce section is presented in crates with signs describing the farm that the produce was sourced from.
Some of the fruits and vegetables sold in the produce section have tags, such as the pictured chard, noting that the items were grown on Foragers' own farm in Columbia County, N.Y.
Foragers plans to nearly the double the size of its produce offerings.

The prepared food area sells rotisserie chickens, sides made with fruits and vegetables, and warm sandwiches such as house-made pastrami with homemade sauerkraut.
The restaurant offers dishes such as smoked local lamb belly adobo with farm okra, charred corn and roasted cherry tomatoes for $27. The back of the menu lists where the milk, eggs, cheese, meats, vegetables and alcohol options were sourced from. They are most often sourced from New York, with a few exceptions.
Like Foragers’ other departments, its meat section is small, but thoughtful. The Chelsea store has a dry aging room visible from the meat counter.
There is also a small selection of seafood.
The retailer offers house-made canned items such as mustard, sauerkraut, and pickled okra, green beans and onions.
