Sabor Latino, FMI Connect announce partnership

Food Marketing Institute and Sabor Latino Food Industry Trade Show on Wednesday announced an initiative to bring their respective signature trade shows together at FMI Connect in 2015.

The Sabor Latino food industry trade show will feature Hispanic exhibitors at the 2015 FMI Connect show at McCormick Center in Chicago. Along with exhibits, the show will offer presentations on Hispanic demographics, data, consumer buying patterns, and health and wellness. Sabor Latino provides a platform for grocers, restaurateurs, schools, hotels, hospitals, and foodservice professionals to engage with food suppliers and manufacturers wishing to tap and grow in the lucrative Hispanic market.

“Sabor Latino food show is a natural partner to FMI Connect, as it embodies the changing face and palate of the customer,” Leslie G. Sarasin, FMI president and CEO, said in a statement. “Food retailers aware of the increasing consumer demand for international flavors and dishes will be thrilled with the addition of Sabor Latino to the FMI Connect experience.”

This year’s Sabor Latino show is being held this week in Pasadena, Calif.

“Chicago has the nation’s fifth largest Hispanic population and Hispanics make up a little over 21% of Chicago’s population, including the business sector,” Lilly Rocha, show director for the Sabor Latino Food Show said. “Hispanic food products have not only been on the rise in most of the traditionally high-density Hispanic cities like Los Angeles, New York and Miami, but are a staple in most of the country.”
