H-E-B recalls 75,000 lbs. of beef

HEB Meat Processing has recalled over 75,000 pounds of fresh beef items after workers found metal shavings in the products, according to USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

A customer also found metal in an in-store sample.

Recalled products include various vacuum-sealed packages and items on Styrofoam trays. The items were sold at H-E-B, Central Market and Joe V’s Smart Shop.

“H-E-B is committed to the highest standards of food safety for our customers,” Winell Herron, group VP of public affairs, said in a recall announcement on H-E-B’s website. “We take every precaution necessary to ensure the integrity and quality of the products sold in our stores.”
