Name recognition
Last month, a Stop & Shop store in Somerville, Mass., opened outposts of four popular Boston restaurants: Carol Ann’s Bake Shop, Fisherman’s Net, Salsa’s and The Sausage Guy. Located near the front of the store, the restaurant area includes tables for customers that choose to eat their meals on the spot. Takeout is also available.
Thinking local
“This is a great opportunity to offer our customers a better shopping experience through a broader selection of restaurant quality foods prepared for our customers on the spot,” Joe Kelley, president, Stop & Shop New England Division, said in a statement. “We’ve been local for 100 years and are excited to partner with other local brands that customers know and love.”
Catch of the day
Fried seafood, fries and chowder are available from Fisherman’s Net, which also has a storefront in Boston’s Faneuil Hall Marketplace.
Sweet treats
Another Faneuil Hall favorite, Carol Ann’s Bake Shop sells fresh pastries and other desserts.
A taste of Mexico
Salsa’s, with two restaurants in the Boston area, serves a Mexican menu.
A home run
Red Sox fans will recognize The Sausage Guy’s signature sandwiches from dining at Fenway Park.
