In season
Manager Kelly Williams said the store is endeavoring to provide a full-shop for seasonally appropriate events. Here, a display for summer picnics offers everything from charcoal to plasticware, to tablecloths and outdoor chairs.
Pump it up
Six gas pumps are located beneath a covered awning adorned with the starburst logo. The chain prices its gas daily to be the lowest in the area, manager Kelly Williams said.
Shake it up
A variety of specialty beverages are a highlight of the offering. Here manager Kelly Williams demonstrates a make-your-own-milkshake machine.

The fresh coffee offering features the Community Coffee brand of Louisiana.
Fresh to go
Bentonville Butcher & Deli, a popular local deli, operates the kitchen at Walmart to Go. Offerings including everything from fresh soups and sandwiches to entrees like barbeque spare ribs. The store also offers a variety of refrigerated packaged meals to go.
Cool it
A walk-in cooler with temps around 30 to 32 degrees provides shoppers with the what manager Kelly Williams called the “coldest beer in town.” He said he’s measured competitors’ coolers at around 37 degrees.
Grocery offering
Grocery products, many provided via direct store delivery, fill five short aisles at the store.
Welcome Walmart shoppers
Walmart to Go has seen an average of 2,000 customers a day since opening in March. Unlike some convenience stores, Walmart to Go is not open 24 hours, but from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
Still learning
Walmart’s U.S. CEO Bill Simon said the store was providing Walmart with lessons around specialty beverage offerings, gas retailing and the power of convenience. “I think we spent too much money to build it,” he added. “So we’re learning from that too.”
