Mariano’s opened its new location in Evergreen Park, Ill., a town located near South Chicago on West 95th Street and South Maplewood Avenue.
“Evergreen Park marks out 30th location and reaffirms our commitment to expanding the Mariano’s experience to the South Side,” said Bob Mariano, chairman and CEO of Roundy’s, in a media statement before the grand opening.
“When we open the doors tomorrow, our neighbors will find a true one-stop shop with unparalleled customer service and unique amenities such as our exclusive Todds BBQ, freshly made Oki Sushi and more."
This brings the banner store count for parent company Roundy’s to 149.
Mariano’s said that the Evergreen Park store will create 400 jobs.
The new store offer the Todd’s BBQ shop with smoked brisket, ribs and sausage.
The Squeez’d stand has a variety of fresh smoothies and juices made on the spot.
Like at Mariano’s other stores, the Evergreen Park store emphasizes fresh and prepared foods. The store features a Crumbs Bake Shop, an in-store bakery with artisan breads and an in-store grill.
The Italian-themed Vero coffee shop has locally roasted beans and house-made gelato.
Mariano’s gave out two donations to local groups at the grand opening on Feb. 3 to the Evergreen Park Village Pantry Coalition and the Beverly Area Arts Alliance.
